Daily Absurdities

Well the trip was bittersweet. It was Thai new year, so the streets were full of people with water guns and buckets to dump on you. A far cry from a few sprinkles of water in older times.

Also the mass riots sort of put a damper on things. Now that I’m out of the city and can’t alarm anyone, there were officially live rounds being fired in the streets as we left, and our cab drove just a block away from the burning bus. Funny because not 4 blocks away expats were partying in the streets like it was Mardi Gras.

Overall, Thailand is among the most incredible places I’ve been, as you’ll hear from anyone who comes here. Now on a surrounding island, and pics/exact location to follow.

Just another sad story about the economy and what’s happening to people. Weather the storm. Lock down your credit cards and stick to the bottom of Maslow’s hierarchy right now. I haven’t used a credit card in months. It’s time we changed our “pay-later” habits and learned how to manage our money, myself included. It’s a process.

After a lengthy and fruitless job search, the Karpmans were shocked to find themselves in financial dire straits, with zero savings, hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and their home in foreclosure.

Desperate for quick cash, Karpman tried to find a job bartending but came up empty. Finally, he drove his Mercedes to Mike’s Pizza & Deli Station in Clearwater and applied for a job.

So this dude who worked at my old apartment office showed up in the news again. It started out in Willamette Week, but the scandal has reached the Queen of All Media, and he apparently doesn’t care, so neither to I about posting it.

Beau Breedlove (definitely his birth name, what mom wouldn’t name her kid that?) posed nude for photos in L.A. after it was revealed that he and Portland, OR mayor Tom Potter admitted to an affair when Breedlove was 17.

He showed me my last place and was really quite a good salesperson. I moved in 2 days later. My gaydar was going infrared, but I think that was sort of the image. No worries, I’m an equal opportunity spender.

Anyway, pretty handsome bloke. I don’t think he’s be working in an apartment management office much longer if he’s trekking to L.A. photo shoots.
